“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” -- Dr. Wayne Dyer
Positive Affirmations and Co-Creation
Positive affirmations are positive statements which capture the essence of how you want to be.
When thoughtfully created, positive affirmations can be powerful tools of conscious creation in our lives.
We, as humans, have been bestowed with the astonishing gift of co-creation.
Co-creation is our ability to very clearly state to the Universe what we want, and, if it is for the Highest Good of All Concerned, our desires are manifested.
The key is to collect your thoughts into a clear statement and communicate this concisely to the powerful Universe.
Consider this…if you don’t know what you want, how can you expect the Universe to provide it?
Positive affirmations are powerful tools of co-creation. Through your thoughts you have dominion over your situation. This is why it is critical to have loving and positive thoughts at all times. What you think is what you get.
The Danger of Negative Thoughts
The power of positive affirmations can be dramatic. Conversely, negative thoughts can be absolutely destructive in the same way. How many negative thoughts do you have in a day?
According to Psychology Today, the average person has up to 50,000 negative thoughts per day. Think about it, that’s a negative thought every two seconds!
Every negative thought is a concrete step towards creating illness, stress, depression, anxiety, poverty, and your general life circumstances. With each negative thought, you create a template for your life.
Negative thinking is nothing more than a habit which, through repetition, becomes hardwired into your brain. This negative habitual thinking takes over and effectively becomes the soundtrack of your life. Have you ever noticed that negative thinking starts before you are even out of bed?
How to Counteract Negative Thinking by Creating Positive Affirmations
The good news is that you have a choice - this powerful tool is available to you. You just need to consciously call upon it. To counteract the negative hardwiring in your brain, you must replace the negative thoughts by doing the exact opposite. You must replace the negative thoughts with positive affirmations and then repeat them over and over again throughout your day.
Positive Affirmations - Here’s How to Do It
First, identify your most predominate negative thoughts. Which stand out as the most powerful? What do you feel is most present for you to change?
As an example, perhaps you believe you are worthless, unsuccessful and unlovable. Imagine saying this to yourself 50,000 times a day!
The next step is to do the exact opposite.
What is the opposite of feeling worthless, unsuccessful and unlovable? It would be feeling worthy, successful and loveable.
Now it’s time to put it into a positive affirmation by putting an ‘I AM’ in front of these words.
For example, “I am worthy, successful and lovable."
To change the hardwiring in your brain, you need to say this statement all day long, the more the better!
Remember you’re trying to change the automatic way you’ve been thinking for years. Write it on a Post It note and place in your car, on your computer, or perhaps on your bathroom mirror where you’ll be sure to see it. Over time you’ll see that your thoughts gently rewire and your positive affirmation becomes your new way of being!
