addiction-recovery-programWe're starting something new this week - a weekly "how we're different" post. Each week, we'll highlight one of the ways The Clearing is different than other residential treatment centers. We want to make it easy for you to understand the differences as you go through your residential treatment research. If you'd like us to cover something specific, we'd love to hear from you. Just leave a comment below, call us, or drop us an email.

An Addiction Recovery Program to Accelerate Healing

When a person enters an addiction recovery program the clock is ticking. Whether it is a substance abuse issue, alcohol abuse issue, a mood disorder, or some combination, a month away from home goes quickly.

In conventional substance addiction therapy a counselor provides a safe, long-term environment for a client to explore their mind and get in touch with core issues. This is thought to be “therapeutic” (healing). Under normal circumstances it is an effective but lengthy process. We take a more active approach. If you’re in crisis you don’t have the luxury of time. Something isn’t right and it needs to be fixed, right here, right now, and for good. The clock is ticking and it’s time to take care of yourself as efficiently as possible.

The Clearing provides a serious addiction recovery program for motivated people.

There is a comprehensive curriculum in which a small group of people enter together, learn the coursework together, practice the coursework together, and after 28 days have healed issues together. Our experience suggests the issues addressed and healed in 28 days with us wouldn’t have been touched upon in years of run-of–the-mill counseling. This is because we teach people how to quickly get in touch with core issues, bring them to the surface, and heal them for the very last time. This is not a passive addiction recovery program nor is it overly aggressive. It’s an addiction recovery program for motivated people wanting to get their life functioning properly once and for all.

Going Slow Also Slows Addiction Recovery

It is natural to want to go slow, but in doing so you do yourself a disservice. People in residential treatment have real issues and they won’t heal on their own. You may only have one opportunity for residential treatment. Let us help you use this opportunity to get your life back on track.

Our addiction recovery program is unique in the field of residential treatment. We provide a 28 day structured curriculum which includes 120 hours of uniquely personal counseling. The main thrust of our addiction recovery program is for you to learn proven counseling approaches and leave with the ability to counsel yourself and understand how powerful a person you really are.

Think of this as school at a beautiful retreat; you get a nice room in a gorgeous setting. After completing the addiction recovery program you will have mastered a minimum of eight counseling approaches to mix and match at your own discretion.

"When you're in the gym, be in the gym."

This saying was posted above an entrance at a university athletic facility. It speaks to the presence of mind -if you're going to do something, do it. Commit. Try. We encourage this approach to your addiction recovery program as well. "When you're in recovery, be in recovery."

The Clearing is not a boot camp; we don’t use shame, guilt or embarrassment. Our method is centered on personal responsibility, compassion, learning the life lesson of an issue, and growing as a result.

Now you have a decision to make. Compare what other addiction recovery programs have to offer. If you’d like to talk it over, give us a call. Let us help you make this the time of your life.
